10 Steps to a Flawless Diva Skin

And for this, you need not go on a journey to find the mythical Fountain of Youth- because there are several things you can do at home to maintain a fit and nimble body, perfect skin and most importantly, a positive outlook. Let us study ways how to have a flawless skin, naturally and effortlessly.

Step 1: Manage Stress and Emotions

We simply cannot stress how important this step is for a flawless skin. When we get stressed, our bodies produce stress hormones called Cortisol. Unchecked cortisol levels lead to the following health problems:

  • Acne
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Reduced bone density
  • Wasted muscles
  • Inhibited learning
  • Memory issues
  • Headaches and body aches
  • Mood swings

So, manage stress by using techniques like meditation, deep breathing, exercise, positive visualization, etc. All these steps will definitely require some effort on your part but the results will manifest themselves in your increasingly clear complexion.

Step 2: Adopt a Water Habit

Hydration is the key to a blemish-free, acne-free skin. The higher your stress levels, the more water you must drink to flush out the cortisol. Did you know that you lose up to 4 cups of water through your lungs simply by breathing? You must, therefore, replenish this lost water by drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water daily. You can also up your daily intake of water through the following ways:

  • Eat water-rich foods (fruits and vegetables)
  • Drink herbal teas
  • Keep a bottle of water nearby so you end up drinking more.

Step 3: Maintain a Balanced Diet in Order to Improve Digestion

Another important thing for flawless skin is a good digestive system, supported and maintained through a balanced diet. If you are constipated, it will reflect in your skin. So make sure to eat fiber-rich foods that add roughage and push down toxic waste from the body. You can also detox from time to time by fasting for a day or drinking only fruit juices or smoothies. You must also eat a well-balanced diet, regularly consisting of fresh fruits, vegetables, proteins (lean meat like fish, and chicken, etc.,) and whole grains. Talk to your doctor about supplementing your diet with a vitamin and mineral pill. Avoid eating “brown” foods like pizzas, cakes, burgers, cookies, etc. People who eat too much of this type of food tend to have oily and acne-prone skin.

Instead, go for a colorful platter of various fruits and vegetables. The more variety in their colors, the more phytonutrients your skin will benefit from.

Step 4: Follow a Skin-Enhancing Routine

You have all heard it before: cleanse-tone-moisturize. Make sure you do this step twice a day, using dermatologically approved products. Avoid harsh cleansers that strip your skin of its natural oils. Instead, choose gentle, non-abrasive products. Follow up the cleanser with a toner. Toner helps remove blackheads and prevent breakouts. Use a moisturizer containing Vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid and Retinol. Step 5: Do Not Touch Your Skin

And this means you must not pick, scratch, squeeze or rub your skin. It does more harm than good. Many women tend to unconsciously pick at their faces while watching TV or doing other day-to-day activities; so start to address this issue by being aware of this bad habit. Step 7: Get Moving

The best way to get good sleep is to avoid drinking alcohol and to refrain from using technology before bedtime. This means turning off phones and laptops at least 2 hours before sleep. You could also keep a journal to write down your thoughts. This can help you relax and unwind. You could take a hot bath or drink a glass of warm milk to induce sleep. Avoid eating spicy food 2 hours before bedtime as this can interfere with your quality of sleep. Practice deep breathing before bed to reduce stress and anxiety.

Step 9: Do Face Yoga

  • Sit in a chair with your back straight. Relax your shoulders. Now, look up towards the ceiling. Make a kissy face-as if you are trying to touch the ceiling with your lips. This will help tighten the jowls. Relax the lips. Repeat. Do this exercise three times with 10 repetitions of contraction and 10 of relaxation.
  • Sit straight. Look forward to the wall in front of you. Open your mouth wide and stick out your tongue so that it touches your chin. Hold this position for a few minutes. Repeat 3 times daily.


Step 10: Keep a Positive Attitude

And finally, the most important step for flawless skin is to take things in stride and not worry about the future. Instead, focus on things you are grateful for. Have a gratuitous mindset. After all, your thoughts have the power of becoming true, so keep your mind content and your mood upbeat always. Smile in a manner that it reaches your eyes, that will bring out the beauty in you!
